| Facilities
GMC Jammu is well equipped with various state of art facilities
to provide a congenial environment for education. Some of the various
facilities at the institute are listed below.
Help line
Enquiry counters are available in OPD registration areas and in
casualty, where information regarding the hospital and admitted
patients etc. is provided by the Medical record technicians. “May
I help You” counter has been established at Govt. Medical
College Hospital in front of emergency. The social guides working
in this counter providing information regarding the hospital and
consultants and admitted patients. The counter has internal telephone
428 for internal communication. This counter keeps control of two
ambulances, one ambulances is stationed at Gandhi Nagar Hospital
and other at Govt. Medical College Hospital Jammu. The drivers are
provided with pagers. Anyone requiring the services of these ambulances
call at ‘MAY I HELP YOU’ counter from where these drivers
are directed to report by these social guides.
Trolley/wheel chair bays
For the convenience of the patients and their attendants requiring
trolleys and wheel chairs in the hospital, separate place in wards,
OPDs and emergency has been created where sufficient quantity of
trollies and wheel chairs has been kept and the hospital attendants
provide wheelchair/trolley against security deposit. This security
deposit is refunded once the wheel chair/trolley is returned. These
trolley/wheel chair bays areas are under the overall supervision
of the nursing supervisors of these areas.
The hospital being too big and staff members very limited, so the
attendants have to take wheel chair/trollies for carrying their
patients themselves except in the emergency where the hospital attendants
help the attendants for shifting them to casualty.
Central Library
It has four UG, two PG & one staff common reading rooms, one
journal section, One Reference section, one eachers section &
Reading hall with seating capacity of one hundred. 329 Journals
(Indian & Foreign) are subscribed annually. There are a total
of 20,882 books of on different subjects. This fully staffed library
is also equipped with Internet and photocopy facilities.
Auditorium
The college has auditorium with seating Capacity of 830 Seats is
located in the 3rd & 4th floor of Administrative block.
Examination and lecture halls
One Examination Hall with 200 sitting capacity & Thirteen Lecture
theatres.

Facilities for Work:
There are separate workstationfor electrians carpenters and plumbers
.The maintenance of the major equipment is being looked after by
th maintenance cell of the Mechanical Division(Engineering) of the
cottege.They are looking after the boilers,DG sets,Ac plants,Electrical
substation and other related works in the hospital under overall
supervision of Executive Engineer(Mechanical)
